Some excellent quality bracket clocks please keep your eyes open over the next few months THE CASE This clock is a Very very Rare outstanding gigantic antique English triple fusee musical 8 bell bracket clock of very impressive huge proportions measuring over 4 foot 5 inches high, the clock has carved and penwork decorations around the whole case and matched on its original wall bracket, the main photo of the clock on its bracket doesn't do the clock justice as because of its size i could only hang it up on the wall in the hall way where the lighting isn't as good but you can get an idea of how impressive the clock really is in person
The case features an architectural design with 2 carved fire finials to the top and carved vine mounts down each side. There are various carved mouldings and stepped up bases giving this amazing design, you also have the high quality gilt penwork decoration which has a scroll floral design to it, they are all in great condition the case has only very minimal age discrepancies and marks as you would only expect to see of a clock which is nearly 200 years old which all adds to its character and authenticity To the top of the case you have a solid bronze figure of Neptune riding a fish and holding his trident, the figure is in excellent condition The clock is complimented by still having its impressive matching wall bracket which hangs on the wall to support the clock, the clock when on display in person is one of the most impressive clocks i have ever seen and definitely the most impressive clock i have ever owned
The mahogany case has a stunning colour and patina to it which is acquired through age. This is exactly how i have received it and it looks 100% more impressive in the flesh. The case is gigantic and you really have to see this beauty in the flesh to appreciate it. Extremely ultra rare clock which i have never seen the likes of before
THE DIAL The clock features a high quality brass and silvered dial with engraved roman numerals on the silvered chapter ring and original fine English hands which look fantastic, there are pierced embossed bronze spandrel mounts all around the chapter ring all with there original ormolu finish, the dial is in excellent condition with a beautiful clean finish
THE MOVEMENT The clock has an absolutely fantastic fine quality English triple fusee musical chain driven movement chiming on 8 bells. The quarter chiming musical chimes every quarter of an hour on 8 bells and the hourly strike on a separate bell on the hour after the musical chimes have finished playing
The movement is in perfect working order chiming superbly and ticks away beautifully and the chimes are like music to the ears as you can see and hear in the video above The movement is of outstanding quality and all in excellent original working condition, the back plate has an engraved border which is matched on the bob of the pendulum
The movement comes with its original pendulum all working fantastically keeping perfect time and chiming the bells exactly how it should playing a proper musical tune and not one i have heard. Different tune to the usual whittington / westminster / stmichaels chimes
MEASUREMENTS The clock measures a very impressive 53.5 inches high x 28.25 inches wide x 12.5 inches deep when sat on its wall bracket The clock by itself measures 39.5 inches high x 27.75 inches wide x 11.75 inches deep APPROX DATE Circa 1830 This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful very impressive gigantic display piece. If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
Shipping the mechanism back to me will be at the buyers cost and i will pay to get the mechanism back to you after repair
