EARLY Van Briggle Cream And Sugar Set - Blue - Ca. 1910 - 1920 - Numbered Molds

This is a very early set of Van Briggle cream and sugar ceramic kitchenware. You can identify these as early pieces by their unique blue-green color (as opposed to the later and more common turquoise/Robin's Egg blue) as well as the mold numbers on the base. In this case the creamer dish is from Mold Number 33 while the sugar dish is from Mold Number 36. Both pieces are in very good condition with no cracks of chips. Each piece measures approximately 2 1/4" wide at the base and are jus...t over 2" tall. The bottom of each piece, as shown in the photos, contains Van Briggle's signature, place of manufacture, and maker's mark, as well as the aforementioned mold numbers.
Artus Van Briggle learned his craft at Avon Pottery in Cincinnati, OH before becoming an employee at the famed Rookwood Pottery Company, also in Cincinnati. He founded his own pottery company in 1899 in Colorado Springs which is still in business to this day.
