A rather beautiful and rare Russian circular box. This is made of copper alloy with cloisonne enamel decoration in a version of art nouveau - jugendstil style. Probably made for tobacco, cigars or cigarettes - It has an odd sort of inner container on the lid. I'd date it from the style to around 1900 - There are no makers marks. Size: box about 10.5 cm wide x 14 cm high ( 4 x 5 1/2 inches approx.)Weight: 471 grammesCondition: good - there are minor faults, most obvious is that the kno...b on the lid is damaged. There are tiny enamel losses inside the lid and a large patch of missing enamel inside on the base. See the photographs. Payments from overseas must be made with paypal unless other arrangements are agreed with me prior to bidding. U.K payments can be made via paypal, personal cheque or postal order. I recycle what I can but still spend a lot on bubblewrap, tape, boxes etc. It is not my aim to make a profit out of shipping costs, but I do spend many hours packing items and my time is valuable too.
