Athan's new tape drive roller is a single piece unit that utilizes new drive contact points and drive band widths. This new design, plus new top quality polyurethane material and precision manufacturing process h...as produced a product that far surpasses the performance of the original manufacturer's parts. 
This tape drive roller, when installed on a properly set up transport, virtually eliminates all tape skew problems. This results in greatly improved tape path stability and audio performance, especially when using the new stiffer high level tapes. 
Key Advantages
The new design pinch roller core is made out of brass which will dampen vibration that comes through the Capstan motor and transport. Made with new top quality polyurethane material that is the result of years of innovative research and development by Athan Corporation.  It should last 4-5x longer than the original. Specifically developed with a natural color polyurethane which ELIMINATES the black residue created by other black rubber pinch rollers while making it easier for clients to detect dirt build-up on the pinch roller.

Why use Brass over Aluminum?  Brass dampens the vibration that comes through the Capstan motor transport. A huge benefit.  Even though brass changes color if not plated, you can take a piece of sandpaper and make it look new. The change is only superficial. Aluminum corrodes faster, bubbles and becomes a white powder which can't easily be restored. The oxide goes deep into the surface with aluminum, unlike the brass. A reason manufacturers may not use brass is that it's very expensive, 4x to 5x more expensive.  The only companies that use brass are Athan and Studer.

SHIPPING DETAILS
Please take the time to choose the appropriate shipping option for your needs. Our standard is USPS Priority Mail which takes 1-4 business days.  Once ordered, there is a 2-3 business day handling time for most parts to leave our facility (unless otherwise notified). The shipping option time frame you choose will be on top of that.
International Clients - If shipped via USPS, our standard is First Class Mail International and time frame will vary by location. Shipping is generally 2-3 weeks.   An item may be held at customs for a period of time, delaying the arrival of your order, which is out of our control. Due to these delays, on occasion, we have seen international shipments take 6-8 weeks.    If you instead would like expedited shipping with complete door-to-door tracking please contact us so we can adjust your order. The shipping cost for International USPS Priority Express is $45 on average.  Each destination country charges customs and administrative fees on dutiable shipments. It is important to consider the effects of duties, taxes, port handling fees and other customs charges when determining your shipment's total shipping charges.
