Vintage Restored German Art Deco 1930s DEGUSSA Everhandy PiF Fountain Pen Flex
Item History & Price
Up for auction today is beautiful vintage 1930s EverhandyDegussaFountain PenMade in Germany1930s This pen was made in Germany and this brand was aimed mainly for European and Scandinavian market; so was ODC and Acca among others. This pen was made for Danish market and is a piston filler with a stainless steel Medium (M) flexible Degussa nib. Flat-top cap with a bandless design, clear visulated ink-view section to black barrel and Art Deco clip with overa...ll design that resembles some Soennecken pens of that era. Overall, a nice no-nonsense Bauhaus utilitarian design that put function above form to make everyday objects usable. The pen's condition is very good considering its age (70+ years old pen): some normal wear to the GF clip and a seemingly bit of shrinkage to threads - but otherwise this is a nice, clean pen (see photos). The piston filler takes in a good amount of ink and the pen has a lovely semi-flex nib with nice line variation (F-M/BB) - what's not to like? Filling system: The pen is a piston-filler. The filling mechanism has been rebuilt with new cork seal and the pen fills and writes as it should. Nib: The pen has its original Degussa Medium (M) stainless steel, flexible nib. It writes with F/B line with nice line shading. The nib is stamped with Degussa logo. The barrel is stamped: EVERHANDY Dimensions: Length (capped) - c. 12 cm Length (uncapped, incl. nib) - c. 11.6 cm Length (posted, incl. nib) – 14.4cm This week I am listing several other fine fountain pens from my collection so please check out my other items!
