Up for auction is an excellent hollow Premier Grade Drake Mallard made by the Mason factory, Detroit, ca. 1915. This decoy is as “honest” as it gets with no touch-up or repairs. It is in strong, very dry original paint and still clearly shows those great brush swirls that collectors value so highly. The bird has very little wear from use but does have a couple of shot marks on the back as well as a small tail chip that is pretty typical of these dec...oys. There is a little neck putty missing and a tight age check running down the middle of the back to the neck. Both eyes have cracks in them. Overall, this is a really fine example of Mason's highest level production that is in great condition. Measures 17-3/4” long; 6-1/4” wide; and 6-1/2” tall. Please ask questions or for more pictures.
