Published by the Albert Richard Company of Milwaukee in 1930, this pamphlet features 10 talks on topics titled: “Play”, “Read”, “Obey”, “Give”, and “Work”, etc. The subtitle of the collection is “10 Things a Boy Should Know How To Do.”
The work was commissioned as an advertising piece by James R. Miller Co., Outfitters to Boys and Men.
Authors of the chapters are coaches... of famous Universities: Andrew Kerr, Colgate; Louis Little, Columbia; Arnold Horween, Harvard; etc. Each chapter is illustrated with a drawing featuring clothing from the James R. Miller Co. line.
There is a small discoloration in the upper right corner that effects about half the pages. The piece is in otherwise good condition for it’s 89 years of age.This is an interesting piece of memorabilia for those interested in football and in the virtues of boyhood in the early 20th century.
