Gent's 14k solid (white/yellow) gold, Art Deco, open face pocket watch, Illinois Central model, Grade 405 movement, model 3, made by the Illinois watch Company of Springfield, Illinois, circa 1923.
Case: size 12, two leaf, 14k white gold open face pocket watch with linear guilloche back cover with a cameo for the owner's initials and the edges of the case embossed with a plethora of foliate designs. A fluted gold winding pendant and shaped gold... bow is laced at the 12 position. The interior of the back cover is marked for 14K and marked with stencilled initials of the watch case making company, IOCO, The case no is 506918. Dial: round silvered dial with applied gold Arabic hours, gold dotted minute ring, subsidiary seconds ring @6, gilt fenestrated Cathedral hands and the upper dial marked for the model "Illinois Central" (RR). Movement: A 12 size, silvered and gilt nickel, damascened half plate and finger bridge style movement, grade 405, Model 3, Serial Number =4413871 (1923), made by the Illinois Watch Company of Springfield Illinois, with 17 jewels some in gold pivot settings, pendant wound and pendant set, center finger bridge with going barrel and adjusted to three positions and temperature but not of Railroad grade. Condition: In excellent functional condition. Dial is superb, case has not major damage but some scratches to the inside of the cover. Outer case is in fine condition.The total weight of the watch is 53 gramsThe scratches shown in photo 9 is a zoomed in picture .
