Wonderful estate antique Tubular powder flask with removable lid and an etching of the state of Indiana on the side. This brass flask measures 7" tall with a removable 2" top cap cover for pouring out the powder. The Bottom is removable via a very fine thread system. It appears that a similar thread system is on the top under the pour spout, but we could not get it unthreaded and did not want to force it. The etching is approx 1.75" long and appears to hav...e the counties of Indiana etched in as well. The interior has residue of granular black powder; we left this in "As found state" so that the new owner could decide whether to clean and polish it or leave it in it's natural state. We were unable to find any information about this item that would allow us to authoritatively place a date on this item, but were told that it had been in the family "for generations" ( we would appreciate any info someone could provide!)
