It was previously curated at the William Rockhill Nelson Art Gallery/Atkins Museum of Fine Arts in Kansas City, and was valued at $15, 000!!!Notably, this vintage chest also found a home at the Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery in San Marino, CA. During ...that time in 1950’s, the H.E. Huntington Art Gallery was under the direction of American academic and administrator, Dr. John Edwin Pomfret, 20th president of The College of William and Mary.The entire piece is intact, although there are obvious signs of wear sustained through the years. The inner chest however, is solid.
