SUPERB ANTIQUE FRENCH EMBROIDERED PURE LINEN TROUSSEAU SHEET monogram JMA
This beautiful antique French trousseau sheet has come to me from the dowry armoires of a local manoir here in Normandie. This magnificent antique French pure linen trousseau confection dates from the late 1800s. The linen is weighty and fresh white with the embroidery beautifully worked with a triple monogram and a decorative drawn thread border.... The large monogram hand worked in raised Bourdon style has three letters JMA with dotted borders. Perfect for curtains, a top bedcover, throw, table cover, upholstery and even a bed!! French linen sheets are a wonderful way to obtain a large quantity of period linen of a quality that is not produced today. The overall size: Width 2 metres Length 3 metres There is no wear or repairs but there are some pale marks from storage. I have not laundered this and they should remove with washing A beautiful period find for any chateau inspired boudoir. They have all had a 'past' life, a history to tell - and this inevitably affects their condition through use and handling.
