Classic Rare Pioneer PL - 1200A Turntable
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:20546544 | Brand: Pioneer |
Another great find while I was travelling in Japan. Here we have a direct drive Pioneer PL-1200A turntable. The exported version is modelled as PL-51A. This is made in 1974 approximately and considering its age it is in very good condition.
The plinth is made of rosewood veneer on top of a gray metal base. It has 4 adjustable feet for levelling. The metal base has a couple of minor marks but the rosewood veneer is near perfect. The lid is also very nice except for some minor scuffs.... I polished the tonearm and now it's nice and shiny.
It comes with a Audio Technica headshell attached with Audio Technica AT-10G moving magnet cartridge. The needle still looks sharp and plays fine music. This turntable has RCA provision on the back, therefore you can use your favourite interconnects to plug into your amplifier.
This is a Japanese model turntable therefore runs on 100V. I will include a step-down transformer with the sale. I have downloaded a copy of the manual in English but it is the PL-51 manual which is basically the same except for the absence of the strobe light feature.
This turntable weighs 10.5kgs and transformer about 2kgs, the packed box is likely to exceed 16kgs. The dimensions of the box which I use is 61cm by 54cm by 37cm. Please use this figures to calculate postage to your area using Australia Post website. My postcode is 3181. Of course I prefer local pick up by arrangement.
