RARE Motorola JT - 1000 Front Panel Programmable VHF 144 - 178 MHz Commercial/Ham HT

For sale is an extremely rare Motorola JT-1000 VHF HT in near mint condition. This radio is unmodified (no hex modifications) and instead comes with the rare OEM Motorola unlocking dongle allowing for front panel programming (FPP) in the field. Coverage is on the VHF band from 144-178 MHz at 4-5 watts.

If you know anything about the JT-1000, you know how rare this radio is. I spent years trying to find one in condition this good. Only a small handful come available each year and most are heavily used. This radio was purchased from a law enforcement official who told me he picked the nicest radio of the lot when his federal agency switched equiptment, and nice it is. 9/10 in condition, no dead pixels, clean case and keypad with only a minor scuff near the last zero in the JT-1000 plaque on the front of the radio, which can only be seen under certain lighting conditions (shown in pics). The pictures speak for themselves, this is a beautiful radio.
Included is a wide-band antenna, and a battery. I'm sorry, but the charger isn't available as I only have one for multiple Moto Jedi radios. Battery is as-is; it is Motorola OEM purchased about 5 years ago and rarely used. It powers up, transmits, and monitors for hours just fine, but I have no test equipment to give an estimate of it's remaining useful life.
So why sell this radio? My goal was to get the VHF/UHF pair of these and after years of searching I have not been able to locate a UHF model in the same condition. I'm very hesitant to part with this radio, but I just don't use it and it is too valuable to be sitting on a shelf of HT's collecting dust.
