For auction today, I offer: A Leica IIIC rangefinder camera from 1949...with a special covering of sharkskin- that has a horizontal grain pattern! Most sharkskin Leicas' grain pattern is vertical...those that I have seen anyway. This is indeed a RARE find in the world of Leica! The downside re this Leica body is that the slow speeds- from 1 second to 1/30th of a second- are not firing properly. The other speeds are fine- close to their indicated times. I have shot with this camer...a, and the faster speeds were AOK. The "B"- bulb setting- is working well also. Rangefinder is clear and accurate; shutter curtains are smooth and light-tight; film advance & rewind are smooth; diopter adjustment works as it should; and the mount is intact. Cosmetically, there is a fine scratch in the chrome- from the slow speed dial toward the nearest rangefinder window. Other than that- the chrome is superb...especially for a sharkskin Leica! Most have peeling/flaked chrome- esp. in the rear of the camera- NOT this one! You are sure to turn heads with this Leica IIIC- for it is a rare fine indeed- with the unusual grain pattern! Camera will be shipped with a body cap- to protect the shutter curtains. Please carefully inspect ALL images above for cosmetic condition- as they are part of the description for this auction. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Thank you for visiting this auction, and good luck! NOTE- If your photography consists of mostly outdoor image making- this camera is ready to shoot with...since the fast speeds- 1/40th of a second to 1/1000th of a second- are all working OK. Even if you shoot at night- with the camera on a tripod- this camera is ready to shoot with, since the "B" setting is working OK. Remember, the early Leica cameras- including the Leica II- did not have slow speeds, and were extremely popular shooters... Shipping within US ONLY- NO exceptions...Payment via Paypal only...Full refund granted only if item arrives in different condition than depicted here in this auction...
