These glasses are all original and never tampered with. The optics are clean and crystal clear with no haze separation scratches or fungus. These glasses are pre MIOJ as there are no MIOJ markings on these glasses as seen on the later more common black versions. The glass is near true MINT with no issues. The view through these binoculars is outstanding for a Galilean type. The focus is smooth and precise. The engraving is clean and crisp. They do show some very slight edge wear here and there.The leather case is later as it is marked MIOJ. I cannot overstate the rarity of these glasses. They are in a class by themselves. Nippon Kogaku made many of these little binoculars in black paint finish, but the colored examples are quite rare. As you view this auction ad its very unlikely you'll see another colored example here on eBay or anywhere else. A blue example in very poor condition sold for 40, 000 yen in Japan in 2005. If you are a collector of Nippon Kogaku binoculars or rare binoculars of any type, this pair would make a great centerpiece for your collection.
