Please notice this is a quilt TOP: it is NOT a finished quilt or bedspread, as there is no batting or backing beneath the pieced fabrics shown in the photos.
It is a small piece: it measures 71" by 60" across; the bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
All these indigo blue, burgundy, white and black, pink, etc. fabrics in this quilt top are known to have been made in the US during the last few decades of the 19th century and for some time during the 20th.
Of course, that fac...t does not make the quilt top from the 19th century, as the fabrics might have been in someone hands for years and only used in the 20's or 30's, but still it does give an idea of how old this piece is.
Besides the old printed cottons, the makers used also shirting and scraps of other garment making fabrics.
