Edward Vom Hofe Fly Fishing Reel Restigouche Salmon Fly Reel Model 423 Size 4/0

You are bidding on a vintage Edward vom Hofe Fly Reel.  This is the Restigouche model salmon fly reel (model 423) in a size 4/0. It has an early flat drag indicator arrow that points to the seven red dots on the tail plate side. The reel is in excellent condition and has not been cleaned or polished (will leave that to the new owner) although it has been very well maintained.  It is 3-7/8" in diameter and the spool is 1-5/8" in width.  It is single action and designed fo...r right hand retrieve.  The sliding oil port cover features the "Edw Vom Hofe - N.Y. - pat. Jan. 23. 83" stamp.   Full length nickel silver foot has the model, size and serial number R86 stamped. There is a very modest ding along the rim and a tiny piece of the ebonite has flaked off near one of the screw heads, these are minor blemishes but there are NO cracks or major damage to the hard rubber side plates.
