Vintage Rolex Red Submariner 1680 From 1970 With Rare Punched Papers Full Set

Up for sale is a beautiful and all original Rolex Reference 1680 Submariner from 1970 or 1971 (depending on which date you choose, case back or bracelet) purchased from the original owner and fresh from service!
This handsome watch features the highly sought Mark 4 RED Submariner Matte dial with nice eggshell yellow patina and matching hands. The fat font insert is also nicely aged and original to the watch as well as the TWINLOCK crown!
The is accompanied by the original PUNCH...ED Chronometer Guarantee! And full set paper work including outer and inner box!
DIAL: The original matte dial is exceptional in its condition with all luminous material intact with a pleasant light yellow or eggshell color. I have tried to highlight its beauty in the pictures. Hands and dial do not glow.
Hands: The original hands are in excellent condition with all Tritium luminous material matching the color of the markers on the dial and fully intact. Hands and dial do not glow.
Case: The case still has its original bevels although it has been worn and the edges are not as sharp as they used to be. I would not be surprised if the watch was worn but certainly has never been polished by machine. Case has little if any corrosion, but please see pictures for case condition. The serial number is 2, 437, xxx and clearly visible as well as is the reference number. Last 3 digits of serial number on case and papers has been blurred for security.
Case Back: The original case back appears in good condition. The case back is marked "1680" and the date is stamped "I 70".
Movement: The 1570 movement is running strong and has just been serviced in March 2019 by a local watchmaker and carries a 2 year warranty.
Crown: The original Twinlock crown (no dots) is still intact! and functional.
Bezel & Insert: Original Rolex steel bezel rotates and functions properly. The watch has an original Rolex FAT FONT insert.
Crystal: The watch has a new but original Rolex crystal that was installed at service. The original scratched crystal provided.
Bracelet: Sold on its original USA Riveted bracelet in excellent condition that came on the watch with the date code 1-71. There are currently 12 links on the band so it will fit most wrists.
Also comes with a spare original Rolex late 70s early 80s more durable spare steel strap to preserve the original strap.
The rare Single line Submariner’s are becoming the seriously wise investment for many collectors and originality is the most important aspect with matching papers.
These do not come up often so it’s certainly a rare opportunity to get one completely original from its original owner, fully authenticated and in investment condition.
