A Very Rare Liberty & Co Tudric Pewter Box With Stunning Countryside Enamel
Item History & Price
For sale today we have this fine and rare Liberty & Co Tudric pewter box with a spectacular enamel panel. The panel features a wonderful countryside scene complete with windmill, river and farm buildings. This is all done very much in the style of Charles Fleetwood Varley, the styling of the trees and the way the river is given it sheen and reflections fits his style of work perfectly but alas the panel is unsigned so unfortunately we'll never know with 100% cer...tainty. Stamped English Pewter and with it's model number 1021. One of the larger models, the box measures 18cm x 12cm.
The box is in fine condition, fully polished with no damage or repair. The enamel is beautifully coloured with no cracks or crazing, it does however have a tiny nick to the top right edge that is certainly not noticed on display. The cedar lining is complete with it's divider (small stain to bottom right).
For sale at £695 or best offer.
