Up for auction is an excellent hollow-carved Premier Grade Hen Canvasback made by the Mason factory in Detroit, ca. 1920. This bird is in terrific, super dry original that shows minor wear from use including rubs the edges of the bill and tail. This paint is just what it should be for a 100 year old decoy! There are a couple of tight age checks on the back. Those wonderful brush swirls in the paint that are so coveted by collectors ...are very evident on the head and body (see close-up photos). There is some minor paint flaking around the neck seam and on the back. The old glass eyes are original and the left one has a very small crack. The body seam remains very tight. It retains its original leather strap. This is simply a great example of this factory's highest level output and would add greatly to any collector's self. Measures 15-1/2” long; 5-3/4” wide; and 6-1/2” tall. Please ask questions or for more pictures. Shipping includes insurance and is higher outside of the USA. Add $10 for shipments to Washington, Oregon, and California. (Sorry…the Postal Service has gotten very pricey for cross country trips.) Thanks for looking.
