This very fine, 1st quality group depicts a Bacchanalian scene of a standing Satyr, squeezing the juice from a bunch of... grapes into the goblet of a reclining nymph. They are accompanied by two fauns; one is playing pan pipes and the other one is playing a horn beside a leafy tree stump. The figure is marked with blue crossed swords (no strikes) and the incised model number "D63". This magnificent antique group was originally modelled by Michel Victor Acier and dates from the late 19th century. Size:A very impressive piece, this large figure group measures 9 inches high and 7 1/2 inches wide.Condition:Very good / near excellent antique condition. The group itself is in excellent condition and there are hardly any losses to the applied leaves, although a few of the leaves on the tree stump have been re-stuck at some point.
