Excellent Mason Premier Mallard Hen. When these were produced they only came four hens to a dozen. A lot more drakes out there. This is a later mallard about 1910, hollow body. This decoy is all original paint with the exception of a professional tail chip repair. It looks like the right side seam may have been filled in some but no surface paint outside the seam. This was an honest working decoy that had its share of use, but obviously cared for. The head shows minor paint wear as doe...s the middle of each side. The seam splits are very common on these and really not that bad on this decoy. The tail chip repair is about the size of a 50 cent piece. It was distressed to match the rest of the tail. This would be an upgrade to most hens that I have seen lately. It would take some big bucks to pay for something better.Look over the photos carefully before bidding.
