Up for auction is an amplifier that rarely ever comes up for auction. Echo Beam Limited DL7-35. Built in the mid 50's with the company slogan: "Built up to a standard, not down to a price". It is one of the most beautifully designed and crafted amplifiers. Utilizing one of the best circuit designs (Mullard 5-20) this is an untouched and all original amp. Ultralinear in design this amplifier provides 20 watts at less than 0.05% total distortion. 27 watts at less than 0.1% total distorti...on. 45-60 watts instantaneous peak power. Seriously impressive fidelity statistics in the mid-50s let alone today. The amplifier also provides 2 amp and 0.5 amp AC outlets for pre-amps. All while providing an output selector switch for different impedance speakers.
The amp worked flawlessly when put away, however when slowly brought back up by my technician the amp provided no hum whatsoever however did provide a small amount of distortion when volume was increased. This allows us to assume the 60+ year old coupling caps should be changed. Rather than changing it out I will let the buyer decide how they would like to repair the amplifier. It is extremely hard to find these and I'm confident that it is as close to original as possible and should remain this way. Please take a look at pictures for condition, also please note the untouched aircraft-quality wiring underneath. In my opinion it is one of the most gorgeous amplifiers both sounding and looking. I gave up searching for a matching one and feel as if I'll regret my decision to sell this collectible piece.
This will be shipped with the utmost care and will be at least double boxed and securely shipped with ample amount of foam and cushion. I have utilized pelican-case like foam in the past and it has been successful. I anticipate doing the same with this. International shipping please note this will be declared in the amount that it is sold for buyer is responsible for any duties or fees. Tubes will be packaged as safely as possible to make sure they are not destroyed in transit. Tube compliment is GZ34 (Mullard), EL34 (Mullard), EL34, ECC83 (Mullard), EF86 (Mullard).
