Offered here is a vintage Rolex Submariner, Ref. 16800, circa 1981, a transitional reference from the 1680, introducing the quick-set function to the Submariner, and with the early and desirable "matte" dial (before Rolex changed to the gloss dial in the mid 1980s), offered at no reserve!Reference/Model: Rolex Submariner, Ref. 16800Case: Stainless SteelDimensions (excluding crown): 40mmFunction: Time, DateCaliber: Cal. 3075
Condition Report: The case app...ears unpolished, with wear from use. Dial in good condition, with spotting visible., but otherwise no chips, scratches, etc. Crystal has some scuffs towards the edge, and would benefit from a replacement or buff. Original tritium lume on both dial and hands; constant seconds hand appears to be a service replacement. Bezel insert shows wear, and has aged to a nice blue hue. Watch is running, quick-set functions as it should. but service history is unknown, and the watch has not been timed/tested in detail, so a service is recommended at buyer's expense. Serial (70xxxxx) and reference numbers are visible; caseback stamped "16800". Bracelet is a 93150 Rolex Oyster bracelet with 580 endlinks, has 11 full links with diver's extension, and very light stretch.____________________________________________________________________Please feel free to email me with any questions, but please ask all questions prior to bidding.
