Guitar INFO - (Custom shop-Bozeman Montana) This is a version of what had been a Gibson Roy Smeck model in the 1930s. The rosewood Smeck models were called "Radio Grand" while the less expensive mahogany versions were called "Stage Deluxe." Gibson decided to call this rosewood reissue a Stage Deluxe Rosewood, just to keep Gibson fans guessing, but it's the same 12-fret slope-shoulder dreadnought regardless. And it's the early version of that shape with sides that don't taper from the tailblock to the neckblock (it's just as deep at the neck heel as it is at the endpin). That feature, combined with the 12-fret design, putting the bridge in center of the soundboard, results in a very deep, powerful sound. An upgraded LR Baggs Lyric onbpard pickup system completes the extraordinary package.
