Compare that to thenumber of Topps American 1953 Mantle cards graded by PSA and the difference isastounding: There are a whopping 6, 375... of his 1959 Topps American Mantle cardsgraded by PSA, with thousands more likely still out there ungraded. Amazingly, there are actually more 1959Topps American Mickey Mantle PSA 9 cards (25) than there are 1959 Topps Venezuelacards (22)! For every 1959 VenezuelaTopps cards graded by PSA, there are a whopping 290 of his 1959 American Toppscards graded by PSA. Venezuelan Topps cards are extremely difficult to get inany grade. For starters, they were made in extremely limited quantities and theywere usually glued or taped into albums. Between the extreme heat in Venezuela, album damage and kids flipping cards, the cards that have survived are often foundin fair to poor condition with creases and paper loss. Fortunately, thisVenezuelan Mantle card survived in phenomenal condition for its age. The colorsare rich and bold, there are no major creases and there are no minor creases asidefrom the very tip of the front left corner having a tiny tiny bend. If the cardwere centered better on front and back, it would easily have graded PSA 4 orPSA 5. One of the remarkabledifferences between the 1959 Topps Venezuelan issue and the 1959 Topps Americanissue is printed on the back of the card. His American card says, “© T.C.G.PRINTED IN U.S.A.” and his Venezuelan card says, “IMPRESO EN VENEZUELA PORBENCO C.A.” (See close-up picture.) Additionally, the 1959 Topps Venezuelancards do not have gloss like their American counterparts. Mickey Mantle belted 536home runs, won two batting titles including the triple crown in 1956, and won 3MVP Awards. He won the World Series with the Yankees an amazing 7 times, andbelted 18 World Series home runs. It’s a record that will probably never bebroken. Mantle was an American League All-Star just about from his rookie yearon, from 1952 to 1965. Hall of Fame, legend, the greatest! A fantastic opportunity toadd a rare Mantle card to even the most advanced Mantle collection. Shipping is$20 by insured Registered Mail. Your card will be double-boxes and extremelywell-packed.
