Offered here is a gem of a Nippon 4/4 Violin, in my opinion, which bears a label: Made in Nippon with the usual flower seal. This violin is a cannon of warm sound. You will be heard. It would make a nifty outside all area travel violin and at the price offered, you can't go wrong. Even the pictured strings are good on it. This violin has no real problems at all meaning NO CRACKS! There are the usual scuffs and scrapes to the varnish one would expect from a violin this age.The wood is e...xcellent fine grain spruce on the table (top) and flamed maple on the ribs, back, neck. I estimate the violin was made in or around 1920. Violin shops in the USA might retail this violin for more than $800. I have appraised violins for State Farm for over 45 years and this violin is really worth $800. The violin is sold as is and as pictured.
