This auction is for a Lenci model # 950/E Lenci girl, an extremely rare early version of a Lenci child that is seldom found. This beauty is a large 28 inches tall and is wearing her original knee-length rose-pink felt dress with short sleeves and a white Peter Pan collar. She comes with a matching f...aux-fur trimmed felt hat that ties with a felt ribbon.
She is wearing her original cotton onesie but is missing her original socks and shoes. Someone has added adorable leather shoes.
This serious little gal has all the characteristics of the Lenci dolls from the 1920s: zigzag stitching at the back of the neck, a hard-stuffed cloth torso, felt arms and legs, applied double felt ears, pale blue side-glancing eyes, two-tone lips with two lighter dot highlights on the lower lip, and a short, curly blonde mohair hairstyle. She has a swivel head, movable limbs and the third and fourth fingers of his hands are joined.Condition: This great Lenci doll is in wonderful condition, which is remarkable for a cloth doll that is over 90 years old! Her somber, studious little face with piercing blue eyes is all original and unretouched and unrestored although there is a light stain on her forehead which actually appears more prominent in my close-up photos. Her face, limbs and hard-stuffed cloth torso have overall shelf dust, but are otherwise free of any felt damage.
Her outfit is missing one button in back but is free of any moth damage.
