Rebound in plain cloth boards with titles in gilt to spine. Measuring approx. 37.5cm x 25cm x 8.5cm. Couple of dusty marks, else in good condition. Internally there are more recent endpapers and blanks... to front and rear. The title page is grubby and stained. Damp staining throughout (causing a little waviness), and some scattered grubbiness. The first and last few leaves are little tatty/frayed to edges (little more so to last two leaves which are also grubby/creased). Tear to three leaves and hole to another (touching letterpress). Lacking Portrait and last text leaf. Couple of marginal/corner repairs (couple of which are a little crude). Thumbed and little bumped, with some marginal nicks and creases. Else in very readable and firm condition.
Wing B1582.This edition includes the FIRST FOLIO APPEARANCE of 'The Two Noble Kinsmen', attributed to John Fletcher and William Shakespeare. The play was first published in quarto format in 1634. It was not included in the First Folio (1623) or any of the subsequent Folios of Shakespeare's works; nor was it included in the first folio of Beaumont and Fletcher's Works (1647). The dual attribution for the play is now generally accepted by scholarly consensus.
