Classic 1930's Hardy Super Silex 3 1/2 " Multiplier Fly Reel. Made from 1930 to 1939.Hand made by Hardy craftsman RMS.
One of 131 standard and 85 extra wide Super Silex multipliers. See above photo from page 581 of John Drewett's book, "Hardy Brothers, the masters the men and their reels 1873 -1939" showing Hardy manufacturing logs.
This rare and beautiful Hardy fly reel from the 1930's would be the cornerstone of any fly reel collection.
In fine worka...ble condition considering its age.
This reel recent ebay listings from the last quarter (60) of my collection. Including a Mako 9500 plus spare spool, a Charlton 8550C Tarpon rhw, a Otto Zwarg 4-0 300 C269, a Seamaster Marlin I dual mode, a Hardy Princess Multiplier, an Orvis DXR 78 AR rhw, and a Hardy Ocean Prince 3 3/4 AR.
