This incredible original mid century landscape oil painting would be the center piece of any room or decor. This medium to large format painting depicts a summer scene in the forest with a creek or small river flowing as the focal point. The color palette has greens, browns, grays and blacks. This painting is signed Lyn Marsh in the lower left corner in... black paint. Marsh is better known for her watercolor paintings but her oil paintings can be hard to come by.

Rock Run is located in Pennsylvania in the areas of Northern Cambria and Southern Clearfield counties, Rock Run trails provide spectacular views from atop the Allegheny mountains. Several publications have anointed it the prettiest stream in Pennsylvania.
Marsh, Lyn Sheidy was born on April 30, 1931 in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, United States. She was an American artist, educator. Member Shiremanstown Centennial Committee, Shiremanstown, 1972—1974; Member of Pennsylvania Watercolor Society (founding member), Perry County Council Arts, Carlisle Art Association (1st place Lititz Art Festival 1993), Berks Art Alliance (1st place Reading Museum Exhibition 1986). Charter member, instructor Mechanicsburg Art Center, 1968—2001. Board directors, instructor Harrisburg Art Association, 1970—1982.
Marsh is recognized as a leader in the art community. Her award-winning works speak beautifully to her philosophy that “Art is my way of embracing the world around me.” Her diverse works demonstrate her love of color, expression of light and shadow, and her attention to design and composition. A student of both private and group workshops, she settled near Harrisburg after receiving her degree from the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art. In addition to her privileged participation in numerous solo and group shows, she serves on various art organizations and boards. Most notably Lyn is founder of the “Painter Capucines” which is the realization of her vision to establish a group of female artists who paint and display their works throughout the area.
Lyn was a founding member and chairperson of the Pennsylvania Society of Watercolor Painters and was instrumental with the development of the Mechanicsburg Art Center. In addition, Lyn was a member of the Harrisburg Art Association, the Capucine Artist Group and was the recipient of the Sylvan Grouse Award.
Nice original decorative wood frame complements this piece perfectly. Painting has the wire on the back and is ready to hang!

Condition: Painting in excellent shape. Frame has some minor scratches and scuffs. The back is open to reveal the original stretcher strips.
