If your viewing this auction you already know about Rae Dunn pieces. This is an estate find that was apparently hung up for display. It has a slight "rust" tone discoloration in the top loop, see pics. I did not want to damage this with abrasives so I will leave the cleaning options up to the final bidder. Also, full disclosure, there is a very slight vertical craze line in the front and a larger one on the side, see pics. The larger one I only noticed today as it is ...so thin. I try to ship the next day after payment is complete. Please ask any questions before bidding. If you need additional photos I will be happy to provide them. On Jul-12-19 at 15:47:17 PDT, seller added the following information:SIGNIFICANT UPDATE!!! New pics! There ARE NO CRACKS or CRAZING!!! I took the piece out into the sunlight with a magnifying glass. The area on the front, below the bird opening, is NOT a crack. It is a surface rub, as if it was bumped into something that left a slight discoloration. The long mark along the side is not a crack of any kind but seems to be a typical Rae Dunn pre-kiln anomaly that is so typical of her pieces. It is below/underneath the glazing, which IS NOT cracked. I'm guessing this was hung outside on someones porch as a decoration, hence the discoloration under the hang loop. The piece also had some dried leaf pieces inside of it, as you might find in something that has been outdoors. Overall, I now believe my opening bid price is to low, but I will leave that up to the dozens of you who are watching this auction. Happy bidding!
