Atom Robot, Yonezawa, Japan, 1950's:
Atom Robot, a classic skirted robot produced by Yonezawa in the 1950's, came in two variants: yellow-eyed and red-eyed. This is the super-cool yellow-eyed version. Those glinting yellow eyes will stare you down every time. Very nice condition tin wind-up robot with beautiful lithographs, minor paint scratches, mostly around bottom of skirt. Seller recently tested the wind-up mechanism on back by giving it a crank or two, t...he flywheel took over, and the robot started moving with mystery action! Wind-up/crank action works fine; bump and go mystery action also works fine. About C8.5 condition and 6.5 inches tall.This classic Atom Robot was recently brought out of 15 years of long term storage and would make a great addition to any vintage robot collection!
