Description: For sale here is this superb, Meissen porcelain tureen with a figural finial of two seated children. The tureen is moulded with an osier pattern and is marked to the base with a Meissen crossed swords mar...k in blue. Dates from around 1750.This beautiful tureen is finely painted with Deutsche Blumen flowers. Size:The tureen measures approximately 10 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide and is 6 1/2 inches high.Condition:The body of the tureen has a small repaired chip to the rim (3/4" x 3/8", at the middle of the back), otherwise it is fine. The lid has an old repair to a crack around the figure of the boy on the finial and an associated repair to the girl's forearm. Old, yellowed over-painting inside the lid and a repair to small chip on the inner flange of the lid (3/4" x 1/4", unseen when lid is in place).
