Up for auction with No Reserve is a EX.RARE LARGE c1820 GEORGIAN BRASS INLAID MAHOGANY MANTLE CLOCK FRODSHAM LONDON. This is one of several important Clocks fresh from a grand estate, I urge you check all the others as well, though they can not be shipped together with other items, due to their fragile nature. This Clock is an extremely Rare Georgian or William IV Period example dating around 1820. The Clock is absolutely gorgeous with amazing Brass inlaid designs throughout the Mahogany Case. The Clock also retains the original Gold Gilt metal Pineapple finial and the 4 bun feet. I also love the handles and grills on the side. The works are fully signed for the important London Clocksmith Frodsham as seen.
Condition : The Clock is in very fine condition for the age and seems to tick and then slowly stop. When the minute hand is moved forward the hammer does not engage. All Clocks are sold as is in need of servicing to be in perfect working order and as seen in our many detailed photos. The Case of the Clock only has one small spot of chipping to the edge, the Glass from the door is missing and there is a nut missing from the Copper Bell as well. I believe the pendulum and key are original but judge for yourself from the photos.
Size : The Clock is a nice large and impressive size measuring 20-1/2 inches tall by 11-1/2 inches wide and 6-1/4 inches deep.
As you can see I found almost the twin to this Clock selling at a large auction house for 3250 Great British Pounds which is over $4, 000 U.S and that was 10 years ago ! I imagine Clocks like this have risen in value since then but we sell all items to the highest bidder without reserves !
This is too large and heavy to be shipped with anything else, it is just not safe.
