This terrific oil on board from the 1970’s was inspired by the work of early American limner painters and is presented in a re-purposed late 19th century picture frame. Measuring 31” x 27” overall; 20” x 16” actual, the work depicts a young girl holding her cat and the face on the cat is great! The work has an intentionally dark, “aged” surface with stable paint and it is signed lower right JKL. Its frame has many losses with stable gesso under a dark umber glaze.
