This is a hard-to-find early work by the director, also featuring cinematography by Fritz Arno Wagner, another important figure in German Expressionist filmmaking (he also shot Nosferatu, Pabst's Threepenny Opera and The Love of Jeanne Ney, and worked with Fritz Lang on M, Spies, Destiny, and The Testament of Dr. Mabuse.
Eastman film stock. Nice clear picture,... no audio track. See images for a few sample frames. Note that I took these freehand, without the aid of tripod or a proper lightbox, so the pics might be a bit blurry on the edges, but hopefully capture the actual picture quality.
Note that the poster image is used for presentation only, and is not included with this film.
From Wikipedia:"The Haunted Castle (1921), also known as Schloß Vogelöd: Die Enthullung eines Geheimnisses and Castle Vogeloed, is a silent chamber-drama directed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. The film is a moody psychodrama, 'blending multiple flashbacks and dream sequences with a gloomy atmosphere.... It is one of the earliest surviving works of (F. W. Murnau).'
It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Hermann Warm."
