I have had this unit as aback-up for a while. The exterior is kindashabby, but the insides are unmolested. Ineeded to use it when one of my Macs developeda hum. I installed new Sventlana EL34 outputtubes but kept the Realistic (Radio Shack)12AX7. I am also including a VG Sylvania12AX7WA, it may be new - no box found.
I repaired the Mac amp and found a back-up Macamp so this Heathkit amp can go to a new homeand make someone happy.... It is sweet.
The EL 34 output tubes have less than 20 hourson them. I checked the balance and bias on thenew EL34 tubes prior to putting it in serviceand after I removed it. Theystayed nice and steady, and no hum detected.This amplifier is ready to be used.
