Silicon Graphics O2 RM5200 300 MHz 256 MB RAM 9GB SCSI SGI R5K IRIX 6. 5
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:7046991 | Model: O2 |
Brand: SGI | Type: Workstation |
For auction is a Silicon Graphics O2. This is the 300 MHz RM5200 version. Note that there is no 300 Mhz R5000 CPU, the O2 will incorrectly report the RM5200 CPU as an R5000.
System: IP32Processor: 300 MHz R5000, with FPU (actually an RM5200, see pictures)RAM: 256 MBGraphics: CRM, Rev CSCSI Disk: 9 GB
This auction is only for the unit itself. No keyboard, mouse, cords, or display. The bottom black trim has some damage on the front and side. The top cover is also missing.(see p...ictures) The HDD and CD drive are confirmed to be working properly.
When I originally got this, the HDD was blank. I managed to get a base install of IRIX 6.5 on the unit. I think I also successfully installed the 6.5.30 overlays. The O2 will boot up to a login prompt. The username is root with no password. For some reason the only thing available on the desktop upon login is a console. I think there is something else that needs to be installed for the full GUI to come up. In short, there is a bootable OS, but there are some additional files that need to be installed for the full GUI.
I frequently work on and ship older computer equipment. It will be packed carefully. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
P.S. I also have an SGI Indigo, Octane, and Octane 2 which I will be selling as soon as they are ready.
