A Large Antique Wet Plate Camera Brass Portrait Lens.
* No 3 B "Optimus".*
* Later than 1900, very early 20th Century.*
Good quality, marked as.....Adjusted by Perken Son & Co Ltd, Hatton Garden, London.
* For use with or without Waterhouse Stops, none present.*
* All Lenses in excellent order, with only very light cleaning marks, hard to see and even harder to show in the Photographs, no cracks or chips, no bad scratches.*
* The Fron...t Lens shows several very small anomalies, they appear to be tiny air bubbles or similar, they are not chips or similar damage and are shown in detail.*
The Rear Element consists of two Lenses with an air gap between them, separated by a fixed Metal Spacer.
** All Lenses seat firmly, no rattles or movement when shaken.**
No mold or fungus, no other internal issues.
* Threads in good order, they tighten smoothly and fully.*
** The Hood is more than Hand-tight, no excess force was used, I left it in place.**
The Rack & Pinion Focus operates smoothly, no issues.
* As shown the main Body can be separated from the Sleeve once the Rack and Pinion Assembly is detached, four Screws, all which undo easily and tighten fully, not a complicated procedure.*
* I always present items in their true light, I will never deliberately hide a negative or detrimental aspect.*
* Shown comprehensively in the many pictures, please examine them in close up to satisfy yourself as to condition, suitability, etc. of the item(s) shown.*
