This collectible vintage book containing a collection of Kantor's ballads and verse pertaining to the Civil War era has beige and blue cloth boards, in Very Good+ condition, with gilt lettering on the spine. The binding is tight, the book is square, and the love...ly laid pages are clean and entirely unmarked save for three news clippings with Civil War era ballads/verse pasted onto the front endpaper, flyleaf and over. Turkey in the Straw has 90 pages and measures 9.5 x 6.5 inches.From Wikipedia: MacKinlay Kantor (February 4, 1904 – October 11, 1977), born Benjamin McKinlay Kantor, was an American journalist, novelist and screenwriter. He wrote more than 30 novels, several set during the American Civil War, and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1956 for his 1955 novel, Andersonville. He also wrote the novel Gettysburg, set during the Civil War.

This book comes from the estate of Maine poet and avid book collector Charles G. Wilson (1898-1967), who lived in Kingfield Maine, had unusually good taste in books, and took uncommonly good care of them.
