Here's really rare find. Seth Thomas # 2 with an original Silas Terry movement. It's almost impossible to find one with this movement. Seth Thomas bought out the S.B. Terry factory in the early 1860's and began producing the # 2 about the same time. The earliest # 2 models were produced using the movements that were left over from the Terry inventory. As you can see, it was a very high grade movement. I'm not sure about the case. It IS a # 2 style, and it IS old. I jus...t can't be sure it's 150+ years old.This is a restoration PROJECT. As you can see by the last 2 photos, the bottom is in pieces. It will take time to glue it back together. In addition, i'm confused about the mounting configuration. Seems unusual. I believe the weight is incorrect, although it does run the clock. I'm pretty sure the Terry movement would have used a 'shovel' type weight, sort of like a Howard 70, especially since it's behind the pendulum.There are 2 very thin grooves inside the case which may have indicated the presence of a backboard.Hands, pendulum and pulley all look old. There is NO dial, or second hand.In any event, if someone was lucky enough to have a good early case, they'd end up with a pretty rare clock.
