My mom and dad vacationed in Germany in 1965. I remember they went to Munich and I don't know where else, but they spent two weeks there. I DO remember dad coming back with a brand new AGFA 35mm camera and boy, was he proud of that thing. Every party, every gathering, there he was with that leather-bound beauty - popping pictures with old one-shot flashbulbs. Dad is gone now, and I'm selling that AGFA and also a Cannon AE-1 that he owned. But as ...I went through his camera bag to itemize his stuff for sale, I found an old leather bag. I opened it up and there was this old-timer camera; The Leica that I'm listing today.Where did it come from? Did my dad buy it in Germany? Why would he have when he had the new AGFA? My dad didn't "collect" things, so I don't think that's why he owned it. I have no idea why it's here but I HERE IT IS!It's is all here - everything seems to turn and spin and click and stuff. (I don't really know anything about cameras). There is no case or anything else loose with it.I couldn't really figure out WHAT it was until I discovered the serial number of 19008, which means it's a Leica 1A, manufactured in 1929 - It's an Elmar 6th version and has a Elmar close focus telescoping lens.So now we'e about at the end of my knowledge on this item. Heck, I don't even know exactly WHY I have it - but I do.I'm not a camera collector or camera buff - but I now know that this is a VERY collectible camera!
If you're reading this, you already know all that stuff. You know what this is. You see the condition - if you have questions or need other pictures let me know. I don't know how often these things come up but maybe better not miss this chance.
