This is a Vintage Wind Up Portable Record Player from the 1920's for playing 78 RPM records.The case is about 14" x 11 1/2" x 7".The crank is removed and inserted into the front of the player to wind it up.Platter spins and the brake works, the sound comes through the gramophone speaker above the needle, but the platter does slow down from the needle resting on a record.I only tested it with a few cranks so as to not wind the spring tight. There is an adjusting screw that st...ill functions to speed up or slow down the RPM.A needle storage container has a lot of needles secured in this snap close lid.The needle in the arm rests on a felt pad when not in use.There is also a record storage area in the lid.In great vintage condition considering it is around 100 years old and has been stored for over 60 years or more.Restore this item, use it for parts, or just for display.Please view the pictures and please ask if you have questions.
