A rare 19th century Chinese Export Rose Medallion large flower or vegetable planter, together with a Rose Canton under plate (fits nicely but probably not original to pot). The planter is 11" wide x 8" tall and plate is 8.5" diameter. Pot has very fine decoration of Asian genre scenes alternating with birds, flowers and butterflies. Interior has some groups of painted vegetables. The pot is in very good condition with some light interior staining and a couple spots on the rim that appear to be... "touched up" with paint but not damaged. Plate is in excellent condition with no flaws. Both unsigned, circa mid/late 1800's. Weighs almost 6 lbs.
