Coles Large Hit and Miss Gas Engine - Original from Coles Power Models Museum
Hi I'm Diana Becker, widow of Martin Becker who bought Coles Power Models from the original Charles Cole family. I am new to Ebay but I hope you'll bear with me. I am forced to break up this beautiful historic collection of stationary steam engines that my husband treasured, in order to get the cash to stay in my home. I've been careful over the years to keep them in stable humidity ...and temperature to keep their condition optimal. An avid live steamer, Nick, is helping me to assess the condition and care for these engines so that they can be accurately listed and arrive to their new owner in the best shape possible.
This Coles gasoline engine was part of the Coles power models in-store display and is the actual engine pictured in the catalogs. The engine turns well, and feels like it has plenty of compression. All of these Coles catalog and store display engines are expertly made and were very well cared for throughout the decades. This engine like the others from the Coles Power models museum collection is a small piece of model engineering history and would make a fantastic addition to any collection. There is only one example of each of these various models in what remains of the Coles Power models museum, so don’t miss out on this rare chance! This engine weighs about 30 lbs so we'd prefer local pickup but shipping is of course possible.
