Here is the Italian-made WEGA IIa Rangefinder, made by AFIOM in Pordenone, Italy, in the early 1950s. With TRIXAR 50mm 1:3.5 lens. Inspired by the Leica II and very rare, it is one of only the estimated 1, 000 to 1, 300 ever made in this configuration IIa <AFIOM> and if you check the photos, you'll see that cosmetically, it is really nice. There were perhaps another 1, 110 or so made in the other markings IIa <CD> and 2a <CD>. I am selling as vintage, parts or re...pair only so keep that in mind, but serious collectors will want one of these exclusive cameras for their collection. Comes with original WEGA leather case; one strap end separated.
The shutter curtain moves only slightly when the shutter is pressed so needs lube/service. The viewfinder is bright and clear but the rangefinder is somewhat dim and hazy however with the right contrast image you can see the rangefinder adjusting appropriately as you change the focus. When images aligned, the distance to object was properly reflected on the focus ring markings. Focus movement was smooth. The lens glass looks reasonably clear though at this age and under 8x magnification you might expect to find minor dust specks, minor surface scratches or slight haze. The lens is a 39mm screw mount. I'll try to add a decent lens glass image. Ask any questions you have before buying please. Sold as found, as is. Carefully packed for a safe trip.
